The calm water of Rodney Bay makes for excellent watersports, and you’ll find kayaks, wakeboarding, windsurfing, paddleboarding, kneeboarding, and more all included! This property also sits adjacent to Pigeon Island National Park, one of our favorite places to go hiking on St. Lucia. The hike from the park entrance to the top of historic Fort Rodney takes under an hour, and the views are spectacular!
MOST ROMANTIC ROOM: Over-the-Water Honeymoon Butler Bungalow // Picturesque and exotic, Sandals Grande St. Lucian gives you a taste of the South Pacific without having to fly halfway around the world. What’s the best way to take in this beauty? A private helicopter transfer from the airport and booking your honeymoon in an overwater bungalow, which is the ultimate honeymoon indulgence. Coming in close to the price point of what you’ll find in Bora Bora or Fiji, but a much better value because all your food, drinks, and butler service are included!

Grenada is the road less traveled in the Caribbean and gives honeymooners a feel of exotic escape when they stay at this adults-only all-inclusive resort!
MOST ROMANTIC ROOM: Italian Oceanview Penthouse One Br. SkyPool Butler Suite w/Balcony Tranquility Soaking Tub // The SkyPool Butler Suites are one of our favorite rooms for honeymooners across the entire Sandals brand! Why? Because most honeymooners spend more time relaxing in their rooms on their honeymoon, than on any other type of vacation. That said, you will want a fantastic space! These SkyPool Butler Suites include stunning pools that blend into the horizon. All of our clients have the same feedback – they spend more time soaking in their SkyPool than they thought they would. These rooms also come with butler service aka your own dedicated honeymoon helper. After planning a wedding for months, maybe years, you will be in dire need of relaxation. Having a butler take care of all of your dinner reservations and special requests is priceless.

Sandals South Coast is fresh off a multi-million dollar renovation and expansion. The hotel is completing its new South Seas Rondoval Village this fall. We know this new section will be in high demand with honeymooners. Isn’t life best lived over the water? Sandals South Coast has this all figured out and offers overwater bungalows, an overwater chapel, and an overwater bar complete with overwater hammocks.
MOST ROMANTIC ROOM: Over the Water Butler Honeymoon Bungalow // We are sticking with the overwater bungalows as the best option here for romance, but we have a feeling the new rondoval rooms in the South Seas section will come in as a strong second! (We can’t wait to visit and review these for you later this year! Stay tuned!) The overwater bungalows at Sandals South Coast all have beautiful ocean views and are designed and built at angles that provide almost continuous privacy. We’ve had honeymoon clients in these bungalows that hardly left their suite!
ROMANCE RANK // We rank Sandals South Coast in Jamaica with a romance rank of 9. This 500-acre resort has plenty of room for privacy, which is one of the top things honeymooners want! The resort is also inspired by water, with so many room categories having crave-worthy water features. We love that!
FOUR // SANDALS ROYAL PLANTATION | Jamaica
Sandals Royal Plantation is a historic property with legendary customer service. This boutique-sized hotel only has 74 rooms, and ALL include butler service. Sandals Royal Plantation is the best honeymoon hotel for people who seek charm and appreciate an old-world vibe to their vacation. This hotel is also closer to the sea than all other Sandals hotels. You will find a handful of incredibly charming, private nooks to sit seaside and enjoy a cocktail. When you stay at Sandals Royal Plantation in Jamaica, you are only a few minutes from Sandals Ochi, and you have full access to all of their resort amenities and restaurants.
MOST ROMANTIC ROOM: Royal Oceanfront One Bedroom Butler Suite // Every room at Sandals Royal Plantation has an ocean view and includes butler service so picking the most romantic room here is difficult because of so many excellent options. We’ve spent most time in the Royal Oceanfront One Bedroom Butler Suites, so maybe that’s why it stands out as our favorite romantic room at this hotel. Located on the quiet East Beach, the balcony’s views are spectacular… and so are the views from the bathroom! We love being able to open the mahogany shuttered windows and soak in an open-air bubble bath drawn by our butler.
ROMANCE RANK // We rank this hotel as a 9 on the romance factor primarily because of the size. Many of our honeymoon clients want smaller hotels. They are often exhausted by the time they make it on their honeymoon, and the thought of an extra-large resort is not appealing. When you stay at Sandals Royal Plantation in Jamaica, you get the best of both worlds, a charming host hotel, and access to a larger hotel offering, even more, romance and fun.
FIVE // SANDALS GRAND ANTIGUA | Antigua
Sandals Antigua has been voted the “World’s Most Romantic Resort” year after year. This resort’s design and layout allow for it to be at full capacity and still feel extremely private. Dickinson Bay is arguably the most incredible beach in Antigua, and there are 365 beaches in total! The bay is so large you’ll never have an issue finding a place to settle down for an hour… or four!
MOST ROMANTIC ROOM: Mediterranean One Bedroom Butler Villa with Private Pool Sanctuary // The first time we stayed in this room category, we didn’t leave for a few days. These rooms function as their own private villa within this grand resort. You truly have ALL you need – a private pool, hot tub, outdoor shower, expansive living room, and comfy king-size bed. A quick call on your butler phone and any food or beverage wish can come true!
ROMANCE RANK // We are in agreement with the World Travel Awards and rank Sandals Grande Antigua as a 10 on the romance factor scale. The winning combination here is the lush tropical gardens that create such an aura of privacy everywhere you go on the property, married with the hotel’s elegance. This combination sets the stage for you to live out your romantic daydreams in real-time!
IN ALL HONESTY:
We share our honest opinions with you, even if they aren’t favorable. We want you to make an informed decision on where to stay in the Caribbean, and every hotel has a few quirks that should be considered in the vacation planning process, so you’ll see us mention these from time to time.
As far as honeymoons go, we should mention that swim-up suites are actually not on our list of honeymoon favorites. This is for two reasons: 1) the privacy factor – our honeymoon clients want privacy above all else. All swim-up rooms are on the ground floor, and with the exception of very few room categories across the Sandals brand, most swim-up rooms leave your room open to people swimming and/or walking by. 2) the view – because these rooms are on the ground floor, you often have an obstructed view of the ocean. The number one reason people visit the Caribbean is because of the scenic ocean views, and most honeymooners we know have that vision cemented in mind. They want to wake up next to their new life partner and enjoy coffee on a balcony overlooking the sea!
